Healing Spaces · Veteran Support
A quiet room that has your back.
Coming down from a sustained state of alert is work. We build decompression rooms for veteran programs and first responder facilities: enveloping, low-stimulus light that gives the nervous system somewhere to stand down, designed with the people who run the program and the people who use it.
Who this serves
Veteran service organizations, VA-adjacent programs, fire and police facilities, and peer support centers.
What we build
- Decompression rooms purpose-built for stand-down time between and after shifts
- Scenes designed for grounding practices, from breath work pacing to quiet focus
- Environments that avoid known triggers: no strobing, no sudden shifts, no surprises
- Simple controls that let one person set the room without instructions
What changes
Programs fold these rooms into peer support, counseling adjacency, and shift recovery. The design intent is consistent: lower the sensory floor so the recovery work has room to happen. Observation protocols are included so program staff can track use and impact.
How it works
- Assessment. A free walk of your space with your program lead. We listen first.
- Design with your team. Scenes and fixtures specified with your clinicians and staff, to your protocols.
- Quiet installation. Non-destructive, scheduled around operations, calibrated at night in the real room.
- Training and tuning. Every shift learns the controls, and we return to tune once the room is lived in.
Common questions
Is this therapy?
No. It is an environment that supports the work your clinicians and peer supporters already do. We design it with them and stay in our lane.
Can a station or post afford this?
Rooms scale from a single corner install to a dedicated space, and our Sponsor a Room program lets community donors fund a specific room for a specific station or program.
How do we start?

Start with a conversation.
